Today I ran at Lake Chabot. We were supposed to run a half marathon loop (13.1 miles) but the lead guy apparently missed a trail and the whole run ended up at just a little under 12 miles. I felt great the whole time and really caught a second wind at the end. Total ascent per my Garmin was about 2900 feet and there was one really difficult hill that just never seemed to end. However, my quads felt much stronger today and I just kept going. Coach directed us to this run with the Golden bay runners - apparently, they organize this run once per year and it was a good turn out. It's always nice to run with other people.
I was at first a little intimidated and concerned that I wouldn't be able to stay with the pack, but I am becoming more pleasantly surprised each and every run to find myself able to stick with the main group on these types of runs. Maybe I really am getting stronger!
